At school max wrote down that his favorite holiday tradition was making gingerbread. So we did it again..... In my childhood family we didn't do things the same every year. For my kids and Dan it is all about tradition.
We made a HUGE batch of the stuff and let it sit in the fridge until it was all baked. I took a week to get this all done. Everyone had lots of tastes, even Jordan. We ran out of molasses so I went to walmart to get more. It was a Tennessee snow day so hardly anyone was there. ( The tips of the grass were still showing and they act like it is a natural disaster!) I asked the checker where to find it. She didn't know what it was. So she had to ask someone else. He said "Sure I know right where that is." I followed him to the place I already looked. It wasn't there. He said most of the stockers didn't come in because of the snow! I finally just went home and used honey instead. I liked the honey gingerbread better anyway.
We made a gingerbread train and lots of little gingerbread boys and girls for our tree.
Here is the finnished product. The kids like eating it as much as making it. Amelia was very proud of her engine. Shauna took bites out of the caboose before I could get it decorated. We covered it in frosting to hide the teeth marks. I was not going to start over!
Christmas Morning!
I woke up to feed Jordan at 5:30 am and peeked in at the kids.
Amelia and Max were awake waiting for the clock to get to 6.
Max's face is priceless! I hope he always loves Christmas that much.
Snuggling with the handmade quilts from Grandma Jill.
Our attempt at the nativity. Jordan did not want to be baby Jesus!
When everyone was sick from candy and junk food -
