I feel like I am always playing catch up. Here is a look into our lives for the last two months.
My parents spent some time with us before flying back to Utah. They drove our moving truck to Tennessee. Then took a tour around the South and visited family, ending with a visit at our house. My mom was talking with Jordan while we were getting ready for church. My mom is a baby pro! I learned so much from her. Even for my fourth baby I still call her for advice.
My Daddy and Max decided to switch ties. The kids are lucky to have such awesome grandparents.
This picture was mostly for my siblings. (Do you remember the old curtains?) These curtains look just like the ones that were in my house when I was young. I remember spinning around in them. We had pictures like this taken too. They were professional shots but the photographer didn't know how to get us all looking good at once. If I remember right Scott was picking his nose and my dress was bunched up showing way too much legs. (BTW dad - could you send me the picture?)
My kids didn't really want to pose for a picture. Max didn't even attempt a smile. They are all still so adorable. The ugly curtains went down the same day. Along with all the cobwebs and bugs hiding behind them.
Here are the kids being silly. I'm posting it upside down just for them. Our kind next door neighbor saw how little furniture we brought with us so she gave us this hide-a-bed couch. It was VERY HEAVY!!! It may stay in that spot for a long time. At least until I have money to set aside for furniture. Despite all the problems with our house we really have great neighbors on both sides of us.
Amelia and Max all ready to start school. They look so nervous. Even though they had plenty of time, they were worried about being late to class. I was excited to home school - then I moved my family across the country. Life is just too crazy and I refuse to make their schooling a stressful time for me and them. Maybe next year... I really do like their school though. Every morning they have a moment of silence. No one tells them it is prayer time, but I tell my kids that is the time to pray and I'm sure several other parents do too.
Jordan loves to take a bath. Once at church he was very fussy. If we were home I would have calmed him down with a bath. So I took his socks and pants off and put his feet in the sink. As soon as I turned on the water - he calmed down. I let him soak his feet for a little bit. Only a baby could get away with a foot soak in the church bathroom!
Some friends in our branch invited us to a cook out. Somehow Dan managed to drip frosting on Jordan. He looks so cute and well fed!
See- his hair is already growing back! Jordan naps just about anywhere. He is my first baby to sleep all night too! I really wondered if other parents were being truthful when they told me their babies slept all night. My other babies never did until they were over a year old. I actually have to wake him up at 6:30 am to feed him before I have to get my school kids going.
We took him to his 2-month check up a few days ago. (We were late - he is 3-months now.) He has doubled his birth weight. He is now 16 pounds! All he gets is breast milk. Baby fat is so much cuter on him instead of me.
