Gingerbread Villiage

This year we made a gingerbread village. Max and Shauna made little houses, Amelia made a candy store and I made the church. It was fun but if I do it again I'd like to have a huge variety of candy. I'll have to find the good sales on candy and save it until Christmas. Gingerbread is not really as hard to make as I thought. I've had good success with it every time I've tried. It tastes very good too!

Hey Marti! Love the gingerbread house! There's a family in my old home ward that gets together every year (their kids are all grown noow) and creates a HUGE house, and I mean HUGE, out of gingerbread and they use a TON of candy on that thing. They go so far as to use the hershey's milk chocolate bars broken down into the bite size pieces for the shingles on the roof.
It was fun to see your guys' rendition. Where can one find the recipe for gingerbread or the cement frosting?
Looks like a lot of fun!...and of course yum!

Check out familyfun.go.com for a good recipe under the gingerbread train. I made the same recipe and got different patterns online. I like their detailed instructions.
