Sand Castles

These pictures make it look like we went to some great beach far away. We walked a few blocks to Liberty Park and played in the volleyball pits. The sand is soft and damp on the edges where the sprinklers hit it. Perfect for sand castles. Amelia and Max were busy with their creations for three hours. Shauna was perfectly happy digging and burying her feet in the warm dry sand.
We tried to do this before at the sandbox by the playground but all the little kids would get in the way or accidentally knock over the kids creations. Then they have to share every sand toy they bring with all the other kids. Sharing is great but some kids think they can keep whatever they touch.
Dan missed all the fun to bring home a paycheck. We wouldn't be able to do anything without him working hard for us! I'm so grateful to have a husband who works hard so I can make sandcastles with our kids. The term "stay at home mom" totally does not apply to me. We are out all the time creating hands on learning experiences. (The kids just think we are playing and going on adventures.)
I know I don't update our blog as much as I should. But I will try to do it every month. It is just too hard to do with a toddler sitting on my lap. Does anyone know a good company to publish blogs? I want to have a book copy for our family since I rarely scrapboook.

That looks like fun. We've been doing exactly the same thing here in San Diego. We have a beach volleyball court right across the street. Of course, we make hills right now. We are working up to sand castles.

You are so cool! I wish I were more like that. I always dream of doing things like that, but the actual doing is the part I have a hard time with.
I was just trying to send you an email and realized I still don't have your address right. If you have my email I would appreciate a note from you so I can get it right.

You really are such an amazing mom Marti! I love how you don't consider yourself a "stay at home mom." I need to get out and take Ella on more adventures.

That is such a good idea to make your blog into a book! I told Chad I wanted to just print the pages and slap it in a scrapbook, but I don't know if it would work. If you do find someone to make it into a book-let me know!
